Bethel History
Bethel Junior Matriculation School
Under the inspiring direction of its founders, Rev. Dr. N. Durairaj, M.A.Th, D.D., and Dr. Mrs. Florence Durairaj, M.A., M.Ed, D.Litt, Bethel Junior Matriculation School was founded in 1983 in Ayanavaram, Chennai. The school began as a humble initiative to provide high-quality education with strong academic foundations and a disciplined, nurturing learning environment.
LKG – STD V (Bethel Junior Matriculation School)
Between 1983 and 1990, the school focused on nurturing young learners from LKG to Standard V. Emphasis was placed on strong academic foundations, structured learning, and the development of values and confidence. The school earned community trust by providing quality education and holistic development.
LKG – STD IX (Matriculation School)
From 1991 to 1994, the school expanded its classes up to Standard IX. This period marked academic growth, upgraded curriculum, and stronger focus on discipline, values, and extracurricular development, shaping students for future challenges.
LKG – STD X (Matriculation School)
In 1994–1995, Bethel extended academics up to Standard X with strengthened programs, improved facilities, and strong preparation for board examinations. The school continued to promote discipline, values, and overall student development.
LKG – STD XI (Matriculation School)
A major milestone was reached in 1995–1996 when the school expanded to Standard XI, introducing higher secondary education. With a stronger curriculum, focus on character building, extracurricular growth, and academic excellence, the school prepared students for higher studies and successful futures.
